Two Migrant Sex Offenders Arrested After Crossing Border into Arizona

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two migrants in recent days with significant convictions for sex-related crimes in the United States. In one incident, agents arrested a man with a conviction from Utah for sexual abuse of a child. In the second, agents arrested a migrant with a conviction for attempted rape in Georgia.

120 Pounds of Cocaine Found near Border in Texas

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents seized more than 120 pounds of cocaine on August 7 near the Texas border with Mexico. Officials estimate the value of the shipment at approximately $3.8 million.

Honduran Migrant Turned U.S. Citizen Gets 10 Years for Child Porn, Human Smuggling

A federal judge sentenced a Honduran man who later became a naturalized U.S. citizen to serve more than ten years in prison following his guilty plea on charges related to the possession of child pornography and conspiracy to commit human smuggling. Border Patrol agents arrested the man and an alleged conspirator in April 2021 near the U.S.-Canada border in Burke, New York, after finding him with a group of Vietnamese migrants who had crossed the border illegally.

2nd Migrant Busted near Border with Child Porn in Two Days, Say Texas Cops

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers interdicted a human smuggling attempt near Bracketville and found a migrant with child pornography on his cell phone. This is the second bust in as many days of migrants illegally in the United States being busted by Texas troopers with child porn on their cell phones.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested a Mexican national for allegedly smuggling a group of migrants across the border in the Rio Grande Valley Sector. The agents later reported finding child pornography in his cell phone. He now faces multiple criminal charges in a Texas court.

The surge of migrant apprehensions in the Arizona desert continues as Tucson Sector agents arrested 10,000 migrants during the past week. During that period, agents also carried out 430 migrant rescues and interdicted 21 human smuggling attempts.

Governor Demands Biden Stop Risking Migrant Lives at Texas Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott responded the Department of Justice’s threat to sue the state over the recent deployment of a floating border barrier, saying, “Texas will see you in court, Mr. President.” The response came in a letter to President Joe Biden asking that he join with Texas to stop migrants from “wagering their lives in the waters of the Rio Grande.”

DOJ Jumps on Texas Trooper’s Complaint About ‘Inhumane’ Treatment of Migrants at Border

The U.S. Department of Justice is “assessing the situation” surrounding the complaint by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper regarding what he described as the “inhumane” treatment of migrants crossing the border from Mexico. The complaint emerged in a leaked email following the trooper’s brief deployment to the border under Operation Lone Star.

Texas Investigates Allegations of ‘Inhumane’ Border Policies Made by State Trooper

Texas Department of Public Safety Office of Inspector General investigators are looking into allegations of “inhumane” border security policies made by a DPS trooper deployed to the border region. A DPS trooper alleged he was ordered to “push people (migrants) back into the water to go to Mexico.” He also expressed concern over an order to “not give people water.”
